Success Stories: Work
Imagine trying to find work when you are worried about where you were going to sleep that night. That is a reality that most homeless women face when they are on the streets.
And, that’s not the only challenge these women face. They are fearful for their own personal safety; they are hungry, afraid and alone. Many homeless women do not have a network of support, a shoulder to lean on when times are tough.
The Cathedral Center provides a safe environment for women and families who are facing a housing crisis or experiencing homelessness so that they can focus on gaining employment and removing barriers to their independence.
“The two months that I spent at The Cathedral Center really allowed me the time that I needed to get myself together. It provided emotional support and structure to my life. Not having to worry about where I was going to sleep was helpful in being able to fully focus on finding employment.
My case worker and the caring staff at The Center were supportive, helping me to boost my confidence and become a self-sufficient woman once again. Thank God for places and people like you!”
